Therapy Dog Registration for Layla (Ukulele)

Layla is a therapy dog and works in a professional, therapeutic setting (mental health).  She works directly with individuals and groups to provide comfort and love.  She was first registered through the ADA Registry in 2022.    She earned the title of Canine Good Citizen (CGC) in October 2023 after she was tested and successfully displayed the 10 skills of CGC including but not limited to accepting friendly strangers, sittling politely for petting and walking though a crowd.    This testing is similar to the testing for therapy dog certification (approx. 75% similar).   She is a working dog and has accumulated approx.   1,000 hours providing comfort and love directly to individuals.  In additon, she has also been in group events and large events (high attendance) without any issues.   Layla is kind and gentle and generously gives comfort and love to others.  She is particularly fond of children.  She allows children to touch her and hold her.   She also loves to be held and touched in general.  Due to her small size, she sometimes startles or is frightened by sounds.  She also is frightened by certain objects like keys, hats, sunglassed and large objects.   It is best to allow Layla to come to you.
